Ink31 2022

Princess Edition

This year for Ink31, I decided to tackle this idea I’ve had for awhile of drawing the Disney Princesses as different ethnicities. Given the current Black Little Mermaid controversy, I thought that was a good push to finally do it. I believe everyone should be able to enjoy and see themselves as their favorite princess, so I will try and design as many versions of our favorite princesses for everyone.

Due to the time crunch of this project (drawing one princess a day after a full day of work), I’m not able to make as deep a dive into all the cultural aspects or make complete all 31, but I’m very proud with the princesses I drew and hope that everyone enjoys them as well.
